What is the theory X and theory Y leadership style?

I thought i wrote notes about it, but i am just lost… HELP

Mc Gregor’s leadership style :

Theory X = Leader threatens,punishes & control the workers
Theory Y = Leader give freedom,more responsibility & allow self direction
